Horses are awesome animals. It looks like they are our family since the beginning of time helping us with the work and housework, we use it for recreation and entertainment purposes and yes, even for food. Before we use cars for transportation, but on the streets, but also on our waterways.

It is no wonder why so many people love horses: they are smart creatures and can give humanity a great devotion and loyalty. The decision, a horse is a very easy to wear. The question remains: Where do you go to this first horse to be found? Undoubtedly, the answer to the breeder.

Horse Riding at Tswalu

Riding become extremely popular with Tswalu and stalls were very busy this festive season, with a beautiful giraffe observation on Christmas morning ride, followed by observation Buffalo a few days later. Guests loved the excitement of those on horseback, a part of their natural environment.

Tswalu stables now have 15 horses in size, color and race. The races are Shire, Arab X, X Appaloosa, Sattler plated Boer X, X Friesian, Quarter Horse X and Pinto. We also have a number of retired racehorses from the Oppenheimer stud. The sizes range from 146cm (14 3H) to 172cm (17 1H).

Most horses are suitable for all types of riders, but we have a few that need more experienced riders. In December we welcomed Cindy Tswalu that will support Almeri Stable as Assistant Manager. Cindy has her Equine Science in South Africa and has worked with the Arab and thoroughbred horses worked. She also worked at Saldannah Military Equestrian Centre, where she ran a stable manager and eco-tours on the beach. She looks forward to learning about the Kalahari and a Field Guide.

Horse Breeds – American Quarter Horse

The American Quarter Horse is the first breed of horse native to the United States. The breed evolved when the bloodlines of horses brought to the New World were mixed. American Quarter Horse Foundation has races from Arab, Turkish and Barb. Selected stallions and mares were crossed with horses brought Colonial America from England and Ireland in 1600. This combination resulted in a compact, heavily muscled horse that evolved into fill the colonists passion for short distance races.

The amazing force behind a Quarter Horse to these large animals is short distance on a direct celebrated faster than any other horse with the fastest walking Running Horse, the name American. The name for this race many times in the course of the years until 1940, when a register was established to consider the race officially as the American Quarter Horse Association will receive.
